We’re a laid-back bar and restaurant with an emphasis on local, fresh produce, foraged greens and cocktails, craft beers, unfiltered wine and perfect serve gin. We’re located opposite Smithfield Market and right next to the Barbican and Farringdon.
We are open from morning to evening, and have a late-night bar in the basement. Our lunch menu includes seasonal salads, tattie pancakes and Mr. Chaudhry’s flatbread wraps. The evening menu is designed for sharing. Small plates include steak on bone marrow toast, hake with yellow pea dahl and ox check, white beans and wild garlic kimchi.
Local gin is our thing -- we have more than 50 gins on the shelf, all with their own perfect serve recipe. Craft beers are available on draft and in bottle; unfiltered wines and foraged cocktails are also on offer.
Weekends at Ask for Janice are for bottomless brunch – choose 3 small plates and fill up on Bloody Mary, Bucks Fizz and Salty Dogs.
Our stripped back interior is filled with works from some of the most popular contemporary and street artists including Kid Acne, Damien Hirst and Pure Evil.
